BENINCASA - Montefalco
Benincasa cantina (wine cellar) is a former family vineyard estate created in the sixties by Domenico Benincasa. The story tells that Domenico was the first to replant only the Sagrantino's vine on some lands (it was then present on some lands combined with other types of grapes). He turned the Sagrantino into wine by himself in the early seventies. Domenico was the first to record the Sagrantino to the register of Montefalco's commune.
The estate is now run by Marco, who represents the third generation of wine-growers. Marco is a passionate, making a lot by himself while developing wines. He works according to conventional wine-making methods and offer a nice range of wines made to last. He is looking for balance, complexity and length while producing his wines.
