Meursault 2005 1er Cru "LES PERRIERES" MAGNUM - Potinet-Ampeau
Big cozy village Meursault begins a production area of very fine white wines, occupying the southern part of the Côte de Beaune. The vineyard is spread by gentle slopes, between 230 and 360 meters. The eastern orientation strongly supports maximum sunlight. Located ten kilometers south of Beaune, Meursault marks the beginning of the great white wines of Burgundy. Chardonnay is the grape of choice for these powerful wines, opulent and subtle. Located just south of Volnay and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is the largest town in white wines in the south of Côte-d'Or. The excellent quality of the 1st Crus compensates for the fact that this name has no Grands Crus. The vineyard "Perrières" is located on shallow and stony soils as much of the surrounding land and undoubtedly produces some of the best wines of this village. Potinet-Ampeau traditionally works on long farms. Golden yellow color, Meursault is delicate, it combines woody notes from livestock with a ripe fruit. Wine while full length. Do not hesitate to decant before serving.

Doubt remains only on one issue: the 2005 vintage will it be big or resolutely exceptional 'Summer in almost zero rainfall, with maximum sunshine and cool nights, then a month globally nice and warm September' all the conditions were right to give a gorgeous vintage like the 1985, 1990 and 1999. Despite some hail here and there during the year, the sanitary quality of grapes proved impeccable. As for the volume of the harvest, they were slightly lower compared to the previous year (-3.5%). Have a nice balance between acidity and tannins, red exhibit classic but seductive aromas of red berries and promise an extraordinary material. Already very pleasant, white wines announce a bold pretty, great balance and a particularly complex aromatic palette. This bodes serene outlook, if not already power and already meet in the inaugural issue '
