Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "LAVAUX Saint-JACQUES" 1998 - Harmand-Geoffroy
With this Premier Cru, we are in the Lavaux combe, local marl and limestone which rests on a vast alluvial fan west of Gevrey-Chambertin. Specifically, we are on the north side of the valley, the Côte Saint-Jacques, who wears many Premier Crus turned south and drenched warmth. The Harmand-Geoffroy field proceeds as elsewhere: manual harvesting, traditional winemaking and precise aging in wood with a half new barrels. It proposes a Premier Cru marked by red fruits and a wild side, with the size, roundness and a very structured mouth. It can be kept up to 15 years the good vintages.
