Axa Vintages property, Château Petit Village is surrounded by castles Certan May, the Conseillante and Beauregard. It is a vineyard one piece of 10.5 ha, located on the upper plateau of Pomerol. The soil consists of deep gravel coated with light and salt spreaders on a clay subsoil of alios, called dross of iron, characteristic of the great wines of Pomerol. The soil is homogeneous throughout the vineyard. The Axa Vintages group has made significant improvements to our cellars and tied the advice of Stéphane Derenoncourt. The wines are vinified parcel by parcel, then high for 15 months in barriques 70% new. Rich and concentrated, they show intense and full-bodied wine tasting, and have excellent potential.

Vintage Description

Proper vintage despite difficult weather conditions. Indeed, after a hot and sunny summer, a rainstorm is abbattirent on the vineyard until the end of the harvest. For the Medoc wines are inflexible in their youth. However, Saint-Emilion, Pomerol and Graves, harvested before Medoc, show little trace of dilution. The wines are characterized by depth and unexpected firmness. The dry whites are aromatic. The sweet, elegant and lightweight, lacking structure.
