Chateau La Croix De Gay 1978 Pomerol
This area, located in the north of the appellation on good soil sandy and gravelly, produces wines very sophisticated, seductive and structured. The same property also produces a prestige cuvée, Fleur de Gay, able to compete with the best Pomerol by its complexity and aromatic intensity.

A great vintage. Despite appalling weather until the beginning of August, the vintage was saved by an exceptional season back to obtain an excellent ripeness of the grapes. Late, the harvest engendered intensely fruity wines, colorful and moderately tannic. There are tremendous successes in the Graves, as well as in most of the great wines of the Medoc. The vast majority of these wines are now maturing. More difficult Sauternes, warm, dry autumn disrupted the formation of noble rot. The wines are fat and lacking in complexity.
