Chateau Hauterive 1978 - Haut-Medoc
Traditional vinification, fermentation is controlled by a temperature control with a maceration of about a month since steeping. Beautiful bright purple color. The nose is complex, powerful. On the palate a fine amplitude, it reveals beautiful wood aromas, black fruit, finely relieved by subtle notes of toasted hazelnuts. A beautiful Medoc especially in recent vintages.

A good vintage with a bountiful harvest. Often considered, wrongly, as lower than 1978 wines from this vintage are fruity and harmonious. From a good aging potential, fine wines are revealed today delicious, like Latour, Leoville Las Cases, Haut-Brion or the Mission Haut-Brion. Underestimated and undercut the 1979 vintage represents an excellent quality / price ratio. Sweet wines are balanced and of good quality.
