Chateau Coufran 1995 - Haut-Medoc CRU BOURGEOIS SUPERIEUR
Frequently called "Pomerol of the Médoc", the originality of Château Coufran is in geography and in the selection, the first singular first of its plantings. Its vines, planted almost exclusively Merlot, climb the ridges overlooking the mouth of the Gironde. The precocity of this grape makes wonders on this gravel soil dry or sandy, particularly well exposed. The vineyard produces fine wines, elegant and rich in flavor, while being bold and very balanced. With a traditional aging in oak barrels, this wine is synonymous with fleshy, rich, soft, developing a touch of ripe fruit when it is still young. Recently promoted Cru Bourgeois in the revision of the 1932 classification, which occurred in June 2003, Coufran castle is among the leading group of Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc.

An exceptional vintage in all Bordeaux appellations. A hot summer and dry the grapes took advantage of perfect ripeness. Despite the abundance of the harvest, many chateaux practiced rigorous selections ansi as limited yields to obtain an optimal concentration. Very homogeneous, the wines are rich, creamy and perfectly balanced. The Pomerol and Saint-Emilion mainly Merlot, a concentration are non-standard. The dry whites are ample and very aromatic. For sweet, there is an exceptional vintage with wines of great wealth.
