Chateau Citran 1996 - Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois Superieur
Created around 1680, the Chateau Latour estate is one of the oldest of the Medoc. At the heart of the area, the main plot, called ""l'Enclos"", consists of 47 hectares of old vines that are carefully maintained, as only capable of giving rise to the ""Grand Vin"". The 18 hectares of external plots, vines under 10 years and eventually decommissioned vintages produced the second wine of the estate, ""Les Forts de Latour"". Latour wine is an example of regularity whatever the quality of the vintage. Firm, tannic and concentrated in his youth, it requires a long aging to reveal its depth, its power and its extraordinary wealth. A perfect ripeness, the wine is characterized by an incredible aromas of cassis, hazelnut and leather. A monumental wine.

A great vintage in quality and quantity. The perfectly ripe Cabernet Sauvignon has resulted in wines of extraordinary concentration. Most of Medoc wines are full, detailed, aromatic and great guard. However, Pomerol, Saint-Emilion and Graves are increasingly inconsistent quality, Merlot has suffered torrential rains of summer. Favoured by an early harvest, dry white wines are beautiful and complex. Sweet wines are an uncommon wealth.
