ted in Corgoloin, a small village in the Côte de Nuits, right in the heart of Burgundy, situated between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Beaune's cities for five generations. Côtes de Nuit Village wines are produced on lands that are close to those of Nuits-Saint-Georges. Due to political tensions, Côte de Nuit Village lands, close to Nuits-Saint-Georges, were note designated as Nuits-Saint-George during the creation of the designation in 1934. The advantage is that one can find great and affordable wines of the Côte de Nuit. This constitutes the flagship designation of Gachot-Monot's estate with a production of 7 hectares a year. The Côte de Nuits Village is mainly located in the communes of Corgoloin and Comblanchien, in the outskirts of the Nuits-Saint-Georges designation. Historically, these two villages could have been granted this designation, but wine-makers of Corgoloin and Comblanchien just refused it. The Côte de Nuits Villages designation produces rich, robust and structured wines that are at their height after 5 to 10 years in bottle. We are happy to offer a few bottles of this excellent vintage of ""Chaillots"". This is a special wine that comes from a parcel of the same name. ""The Chaillots"" in old Burgundian dialect means ""Les Cailloux"" and this is indeed the peculiarity of this land, the soil is stony and naturally drained. This soil gives complex wines that are expressed on fruity (cherry, blackberry) and undergrowth. This wine is produced from a land renowned for the quality of grapes it produces, allowing Damien create a wine that has that little something that makes the difference between good wine and excellent wines. Tasted blind, you can not even imagine the wonderful things that wines can receive. A wine to discover and have absolutely cellar.
