Barolo "CERREQUIO" DOCG 2004 - BOROLI
The AOC Fronsac, located west of Libourne, is bordered by two rivers, the Dordogne and Isle and covers no less than seven cities: La Rivière Saint-Germain-de-la-Rivière Saint-Michel de-Fronsac, Saint Aignan, Saillans and Galgon. The appellation covers 850 hectares and produces only red wines (about 44 000 hl / year). The climate of Fronsac is the same as the Libourne. It is a climate for good ripeness (temperate oceanic). The clay-limestone soils consist of Fronsac molasses (mixture of clays and sandstones) are conducive to the production of red wines. Here is the Merlot grape which dominates the assemblies (85% of plantings). It often associated with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The mouth of Fronsac is balanced, structurally sound and rich. These wines are characterized by a tannic red fruit aromas and spice. Note that Fronsac wines are wines for aging.
